KarmaWheel Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how KarmaWheel ("we", "our") handles information when you use the KarmaWheel application (web, iOS, Android) and the karmawheel.app website (collectively, the "Service"). KarmaWheel is operated by Das Goravani (Goravani Jyotish), a long-established developer of Vedic astrology software.

Information we collect

Account information: email address, display name, password (stored hashed, never in plain text). You provide this when you create an account.
Birth chart data: birth date, time, and location (city, state, country) for the people whose charts you compute. You provide this. We use it solely to calculate astrological charts and readings.
Saved charts and readings: charts you create and AI-generated readings you request, stored on our server tied to your account so you can access them across devices.
Subscription information: if you subscribe, we receive subscription status from Apple, Google, Stripe, and/or RevenueCat (depending on your platform). We do not see or store credit card numbers — payment processors handle those directly.
Diagnostic information: anonymous crash reports and basic performance metrics, used to fix bugs and improve the app. Not linked to your identity.
Server logs: standard web logs (IP address, request time, URL) kept for security and abuse-prevention, retained for a limited period.

How we use information

To provide the Service: calculate charts, generate readings, deliver reports, sync data across your devices.
To authenticate you and protect your account.
To process subscriptions and manage your access tier.
To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or technical errors.
To improve KarmaWheel based on aggregated usage patterns.

How we share information

We do not sell your information. We do not share your information for third-party advertising. We do not use any tracking that links your KarmaWheel data with third-party data.

We share limited information only with service providers necessary to operate the Service:

Anthropic (Claude API): when you request an AI-generated reading, your chart placements (planet positions, houses, etc.) and your prompt are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the reading text. Anthropic processes the request under its own privacy commitments and does not retain user data for model training.
Apple, Google, Stripe, RevenueCat: for subscription processing and receipt validation. They handle payment data directly per their own privacy policies.
Email provider: for transactional emails (verification, password reset, report delivery you request).
Cloudflare: CDN and security layer for our domain.
Law enforcement: if compelled by valid legal process, in accordance with applicable law.

Data retention and your rights

You can delete your charts, readings, and account at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us).
You can export your saved charts via the in-app Export feature.
If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days (some anonymous aggregate logs may be retained for security and analytics).
You can request a copy of your data or have it corrected by emailing [email protected].

Children's privacy

KarmaWheel is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

All communication with our servers uses HTTPS (TLS) encryption. Passwords are stored hashed. We follow industry-standard practices to protect data, but no system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

International users

KarmaWheel is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States and the use of service providers (above) which may process information in other jurisdictions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
